Take Me to the Royal Wedding

Hello everyone! I am back from my London adventures and have many, many things to share with you! So, let's get down to business beginning with Thursday.  My friend Katelin and I left Stirling around 11 to get our train from Edinburgh to London.  We had a pretty successful train ride and got into London around 6:30.  Our friend, Grace's, train didn't come in until 8:30, and since we were staying with Grace's friend, we decided to wait for Grace to arrive.  So, Katelin and I took to the streets of London for 2 hours...ok that sounds a whole lot more epic than it actually was.  Here's how this really went.  There is absolutely nothing around King's Cross station.  Nothing.  Everything of significance is relatively far away. Katelin and I walked for about an hour, didn't really see anything, and back tracked to the train station where we went to McDonald's.

Once Grace's train arrived, we found her friend, Izzy, and set off for her flat.  (Grace's friend is studying abroad at the University of Westminster.)  After dropping off our stuff at her flat (which was a lot bigger than my Swedish prison), we went out to see the sights of London at night. First, we went to the Tower Bridge.

Here it is all lit up! It was really cool to see.

We also could see downtown London by the bridge.

We walked out onto the bridge too to get a better look down the river, and found a bagpiper. It was like a little piece of Scotland in the middle of London.  It was quit comforting.  Then, we hopped back on the Tube (the subway) and went to Parliament, the London Eye and Westminster Abbey.

Here is Big Ben.

I was excited to see the London Eye lit up in festive British colors.

Then, we decided to walk over to Westminster Abbey to see all of the commotion.  There were people already lining the streets and the area was packed.  It was crazy to see.

Here's Westminster Abbey.  There were Union Jacks lining all of the streets around it.

Then, we headed back to Izzy's flat to sleep for the night before waking up at 6 the next morning for the Royal Wedding...
